The bicycle procession serves:
To introduce cycling enthusiasts to each other
discussion of common problems and issues
Demonstrating and using the principles of safe movement on the road for beginner cyclists
Also, there is a kind of presentation of the need for bicycle lanes
A reminder to motorists that bicycles are part of road traffic
To promote the bicycle as a mode of transport
Waiting to visit different districts of Tbilisi
forming a culture of team movement
sharing positive emotions
Critical Mass is a form of cycling activism – cyclists gather and ride a specific route through the streets.
The idea is based on the old Latin proverb – “safety is in numbers”, the more we move together, the less danger cars pose.
The meeting is held once a month, on the last Friday of the month, and is held in many countries around the world.
